Bloggy-Blog 6 FRICTION IN THE S.A.C.
LET’S BE SERIOUS. Okay this Bloggy-Blog is going to be a bit more on the serious side. I realize I often get carried away with Spoken Word and cuddle buddy assessments so I am going to attempt to make this one a smidge less silly. This time there will be no Spoken Word, no Dr. Dre the Cuddle Detective, just pure ole Bloggy-Blog. Enjoy!
DA DUELSKI- Shuffleboard? Really, Survivor? Every time I see a shuffleboard challenge or some variation of it, I want to punch a baby kangaroo. It’s not exciting to watch. Shuffleboard sucks. There, I said it. Anyway, Christine wins and continues to Elrod her way through this game. Get it girl.
SAVAII- Over at Savaii, Ozzy comes back from Tribal Council sulking about the Elyse blindside. He is pissed and acting like a stupid bitch, apparently. I understand that Ozzy should man up or whatever, but I also relate to the initial mopey reaction. In this game, when you grow close to someone and feel secure in your pre-merge alliance, it comes as quite a shock to have your buddy blindsided. Especially if the sole reason to blindside your buddy was to make YOU weaker. It’s like stealing your favorite puppy that you already taught how to play catch and balance a stick on his nose. Or like your kindergarten teacher takes away your valentine’s box because you had too many “naughty tallies” and you are the only one who doesn’t get valentines. I’ve been there. When Matt was blindsided on my season (the first time), I was a stupid bitch for at least half a day, but then you realize you really have no other option than to suck it up. You force a smile, play hair with the girls, and pretend like you don’t want to push everyone into the fire. Ozzy does eventually come around to the sucking up game, but not before spilling the beans that he has an idol and calls himself a free agent. *Bites Fist*Things are looking up for Dawn and Cochran, which makes me very happy.
Jim- I love watching Jim play. The wheels in his head are always turning. He orchestrated the Elyse blindside and now makes a smart analysis of the Ozzy situation, making the comment that he needs Ozzy in this game. Ozzy helps him win immunity challenges before the merge, and is a bigger target than him post-merge. But will a pissed off Ozzy turn on you down the road? Time will tell. All I care about is that we have actual players on this season. Yay! Also, Jim seems like a guy you’d want as a friend on Survivor. If he likes you, he would probably give you the shirt off of his back. Maybe even his shorts. If he doesn’t like you, I doubt you’re getting any favors.
CHALLENGE IT UP: The challenge was awesome. There are so many creative and bomb diggity challenges in this season thus far! In a challenge that ends with slinging coconuts at faces, Coach gets upset when Mikayla wouldn’t use two hands. I would too. Who only uses one hand these days? One hand obviously wasn’t working, it rarely ever does. Savaii ends up catching up to Upolu’s lead, and Jim makes the winning shot! Savaii wins immunity and they get to go on a picnic and slide down rocks. Then, just like that the sun comes out, unicorns begin to frolic atop rainbows, and bunnies and butterflies are singing show tunes. Savaii is a happy family and Ozzy makes the comment that even if he doesn’t win the million, he hopes someone from his tribe does. Ba-What?? That’s Survivor for you! Yes, it is possible to hate your tribe one moment, then you win a challenge and reward and you want to marry everyone and have their babies. Such a bizarre game.
THE S.A.C. IS DISTURBED. Once upon a time there was the C.R.A.B.S. alliance of Coach, Rick, Albert, Brandon and Sophie. The C.R.A.B.S. was a unit and always voted together. Then, one day, from this alliance emerged the seemingly strong S.A.C. sub-alliance which Albert brought together by sharing the idol clue. What happens when two members of the S.A.C. don’t agree? Friction in the S.A.C. Ouch. That’s gotta hurt.
Basically we have an Albert vs. Coach scenario: two alpha males playing for their end game. Oh my! Coach wants to keep Edna around because he knows he can use her and she is loyal to him. Albert wants to keep Mikayla for similar reasons, but is pitching the idea to the others with the approach of “keeping the tribe strong.” Albert also makes a really important point. Edna is smart enough to know she is the 6th person, which is much more dangerous than someone like Mikayla who you could manipulate into thinking she is safer than she is. Albert is here to play. He is more than just apparently attractive.
This leaves Rick and Brandon in the middle. So what happens? Brandon comes up with some random reason that he is sticking to his word: blah blah man of my word blah marijuana blah detrimental blah blah and I usually stop listening to his confessionals. Moustache, on the other hand is faced with an actual decision. Who does he piss off: Coach or Albert? He ends up voting with Coach, Brandon and Edna, sending Mikayla to Redemption Island. Albert and Sophie don’t get what they want, but at least they are playing. They are actually playing their own game, not Coach’s game. Did they possibly watch season 22 and learn from it? I’m thinking so. Now Albert and Sophie have to find a way to smooth things over with the rest of the alliance or it’s looking like two against four. I hope they do, because if we are left with C.R.E.B. I’m going to be pissed. Yes, CREB may be a cellular transcription factor and all, but I want an alliance name I like to say. So for my sake, just please reunite the C.R.A.B.S. and S.A.C. I will even take the B.R.A.C.E.S. alliance. I know I’m being selfish, but just do it for my sake.
What did you guys think? I think Edna is playing smart for the cards she has been dealt. She knows she is on the bottom, so she is doing her darndest to cozy up to Coach. I also think Albert, Jim and Sophie are forces to be reckoned with. Yet, when it comes down to it, Coach is the one who got what he wanted. Will Albert and Sophie smooth things over with Coach? What will Ozzy do over at Savaii? Will Survivor help Mikayla’s modeling career? Can you just taste the merge or what?! Thanks for reading the Bloggy-Blog! Xoxo Dre Dre

How about the B.R.E.C. alliance? Its much better than C.R.E.B. and reminds me of a shampoo, and who doesn't think shampoo when looking at these people?

Great title - I would have gone with 'Friction with the SAC'
I've noticed you like to tack an "e" sound to the end of words. bloggy, duelski.
I think you're trying to become a Russian female rapper. If anyone can do it, you could pull it off. Not sure if anyone can do it however.
Move over spoken word art. It's the Russian Rapski Andri.
Yes, Ozzy's 180 degree turn around in such a short time does point out something about Survivor and human nature. It's these type of human nature observations that really intrigues me in the long term with Survivor.
Your bloggy-blog is very fun to read, and I love how your fun side shows itself in the writing.
Time to buttoutski.

Thanks David. You're right about humanity being the gournding force in the film. In spite of the technology, it's this aspect that of vulnerability that makes the characters such strong sources of audience empathy. It's also probably what distinguishes Albert from Hitler in the context of the voice and power, since the latter is only depicted via technology.I also think this film will do very well at the various upcoming awards ceremonies but as you said, you can never be too sure when it comes to Academy voting.

Albert is an idiot and is playing a very siputd game. I don't understand why he thinks he will survive long-term post-merge, since the other tribe is gunning for him and now he is creating dissension in his own tribe with these divided votes. Maybe if he would align with Edna and take her seriously as a competitor and she will survive longer-term than him post merge, that would go further to securing his place post-merge than alienating Coach, Li'l Hantz, and Edna. I don't see how Albert comes back from this move within his own tribe. With the merge on the horizon, I don't see how he's long for the game. When voting in a divided tribe, the key is always to vote with the majority. By Albert not voting with the majority (and being focused on heavily in the past few episodes), he will be gone very soon and very quickly post-merge. I am looking forward to Hantzypantzy's meltdown when he realizes that Coach, Sophie, and Albert weren't honest with him and clearly weren't loyal to him.
